Rooted in Responsibility
At Lodge at Marconi, we are committed to responsible hospitality, ensuring our operations minimize environmental impact while enhancing the guest experience. Our sustainability initiatives focus on water conservation, waste reduction, and eco-friendly amenities, all designed to protect our natural surroundings and promote sustainable travel.
Our Initiatives
Lodge at Marconi has been awarded a state grant of over $450,000 to allow us the opportunity to work on implementing a grey water system to recycle gently used water from sinks, showers, and laundry facilities. Instead of being discarded, this water is filtered, treated, and repurposed for irrigation across our lush property.
Why It’s Sustainable
- Reduces Water Waste: Reuses thousands of gallons of water annually.
- Eco-Friendly Landscaping: Supports native plant life and the birds and wildlife that depend on it, while minimizing excess water usage.
- Energy Efficiency: Reduces the energy required for water transportation and processing.
To eliminate single-use plastic waste, we provide refillable, high-quality dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and hand soap in all guest bathrooms.
Why It’s Sustainable
- Eliminates Plastic Waste: Prevents thousands of small plastic bottles from ending up in landfills or oceans.
- Reduces Packaging Impact: Bulk refill systems decrease the carbon footprint of manufacturing and transportation.
- Maintains a Luxury Experience: Guests enjoy premium-quality amenities without environmental harm.
To further conserve water and energy, housekeeping services are provided on the third day of a guest’s stay, unless otherwise requested.
Why It’s Sustainable
- Lowers Water Usage: Reduces the frequency of linen and towel laundry cycles.
- Decreases Energy Consumption: Minimizes electricity use from washing machines, dryers, and vacuums.
- Offers Guest Flexibility: Guests who prefer daily service can request it, maintaining a balance between comfort and conservation.
Instead of single-use plastic water bottles, we offer PATH Water, an aluminum, refillable alternative, and provide a Blue Drop water filling station in our hotel lobby for guest convenience.
Why It’s Sustainable
- Eliminates Single-Use Plastics: Reduces plastic waste that contributes to pollution.
- Encourages Reusability: Guests can take their reusable PATH bottles home, continuing sustainable habits beyond their stay.
- Supports Eco-Friendly Travel: Provides fresh, filtered water access without waste.
